The Ford and Walbro can, also. On my former POS '5, the PO had a Ford dealer
install a new pump, and it died within a couple of months. IIR, Dave
Pillsbury also had one die soon after installation.

Like any other electronic component. Either die quick, or last a long time.

This is why the hole-in-the-floor pump replacement method is so handy.
