[Shotimes] RE: Where to buy a helmet?

Hard to tell, but in 199, before Road Atlanta, they were only accepting
SA1990 or newer, and my old Simpson was a 1985.

I suspect that they will go back two Snell ratings, once the new ones are in
general circulation, which may be in a year or two.....meaning my SA1995
will be dead in a year or two.

OTH, an SA2000 should be good until 2011 or 2012, I'm guessing.

I will still recommend waiting until October. Even if you don't care about
an sa2005 there should be some good deals on SA2000 helmets.

When are the Snell 2000 stickers good 'till?

I found the Bell SR-Pro helmets. They are full face but rather open.

Also check racerwholesale.com for good prices and selection.

I have a 7 3/4 size also, good company! :)

I bought the Snell full face helmet that has the big opening like used
for pit crews. With a closed car why pay for a visor, and I like the
bigger opening that lets in more air around the face. Your chin/lower
face is still protected. Plus they are cheaper than the typical full
face helmets.

I agree, wait till the 2005 snell sticker is available, and get FIVE
more full years of use from the helmet.
