Mike, congrats on the apartment!  I'm almost 25 and still living at home,
I'm jealous!  

Bob and Mike, have you seen any of the history pages about VIR?  Until the
past few years, it was closed down and completely over grown.  It's really
something that a group of people got together with some investors and made
into what it is now.  I used to drive by the track once a month on my way to
North Carolina to visit my girlfriend at Elon University.  I always wanted
to stop and check the track out, but I either had 2 or 6 hours left in my
drive depending on which way I was headed, and never got the chance.  

The pictures look pretty cool.  It's interesting to see the mix of different
cars all on the track at the same time.  Base model Neon and CRX up to a C6
Vette and Lotus Elise.

I finally get to do my first track event on Sept 17 with the BMWCCA at Lime
Rock.  I'm very excited, and I've got a lot of things left to do with my car
before then.  Bob would you happen to have any interest in showing me how
you use all of your home made tools to do an alignment? ;)

Please excuse Mike's error.  Today is his first day ever at college and away
from home.  He moved into an apartment over the weekend and today is his
first day of classes. Oh such a great time for me too.  My only child, a
great son, I'm so proud.  He is starting his junior year of school at Penn
State and headed for an Engineering Degree!!  Go Nittany Lions!

He recently celebrated his 21ts B-day with a 3 day driving school with
www.carguys.com.  He spent his schooling at www.virclub.com.  I say this is
the nicest road course in the USA, bar none.  If you ever have a chance to
drive at VIR you need to take full advantage.  Check out Mike's excursion at

events on Aug 13 & 14.  Mike had my lightened 92 in the Green group.  Mike
was the first in his group to advance to a solo level.  Mike learned a lot
and came home with some nice stories.  

The SHO community really needs to center a convention around this track.  It
is honestly a fantastic facility.

Just thought I would share with the rest of the group.

I attended a track event earlier this month at Virginia International
Raceway.  There are pictures posted from the event at the web site in the
link below.  The shots are under Aug 13 and Aug 14.  I was in the green run
group.  In case you don't know, I took my father's green gen II (the track
monster).
