[Shotimes] exhaust thoughts. Help!

Mark & I burned a nice big "cutout" into my 92's rear bumper cover at Putnam. It now almost looks like my single 2.5" SS custom
mandrel bent exhaust perfectly fits the bumper cover. My cover must be the early 92 version.

The gen1 wouldn't be so bad with a single (as for looks) as the rear fascia
hangs lower. Also, the early 92 rear fascia doesn't have the larger exhaust
cut outs that the late 92-95 ones do, so you could probably make it look
better with an early one vs a later one.
The real crap of the SHO isn't so much the 2-1-2 as much as it is the outlet
for the Ypipe (including the aftermarket PP units) is 2.25", same as the
individual pipes off the manifolds. Depending on your hp/rpm level, you
need at least 2.5" up to 3" outlet there, with same size piping from there.
Lance Cheney's 92 has or had a nice 3" collector and 3" piping all the way
back with a single muffler. His early 3.2L (ATX longblock) made 250 fwhp,
and IIRC came from about mid 230ish before he ran the 3" system.
I think Dan Brabec's was similar, although his simply dumped in front of the
rear wheel (NASA race car). IIRC his last dyno pull on a +40 cam 3.2L was
264 whp.
