My first Optima failed rather quick, but when they first came out they
had a 3 or 5 year full replacement warranty. Not sure where you bought
one without it! But soon after they hit the market, within a couple
years, Optima realized they had a longevity problem, and they dropped
the warranty to about a year very quickly (pro-rated, I think, which
means basically no warranty). I got my first one replaced under
warranty, although my local Interstate dealer had to go to bat for me,
and the second one has been super reliable, but I think the key is to
keep them on a trickle charger unless you drive the car every day. Were
your failures on cars you drove all the time (do you have any you don't
drive all the time?) :) Or was it on a car you store most of the time?
