Well, FWIW, I treat batteries as I do other parts. I would rather buy three
$50 batteries, rather than one $150 that is supposed to last longer.

OTOH, I change things before the go bad or fail, like brake pads, belts,
hoses, batteries, etc. Not worth waiting until something fails, or the pad
backing plates are scoring the rotors. An example is my wife's Del Sol. The
car was 5 years old with less than 30K. It started slowly one cold day, and
a new battery went in the next day. Not worth trying to get the last tenth
out of an part, and put up with the crapola when something fails!!
