[Shotimes] OT: Ebay discount coupons

Well, you can hardly guesstimate MY "fun factor", I call it far above your
"fun factor" in your'96, but it's your opinion against mine.

Why are you dragging my Subaru into this? You mention my Subaru more than I
ever do on these lists! I call it jealousy!! I don't see where what I wrote
is a "slam" against SHOs as you seem to interpret it. I interpret your
comments as an excuse for you to slam my Subaru is all that I can see.

Again, you misinterpret what I wrote. If you are seriously into track work,
the SHO is not your vehicle. Yes, you can be into SHOs "and" doing track
work, but if track work is your serious passion, no SHO is the car you want.

If we are talking serious track work (not untimed DE events like we do), we
aren't talking SHOs or LGTs or (stock) 911s, although a modified 911 would
be one of my choices if I were into serious track work

My point to mark is how much do folks want to spend for a SHO track car?
Maybe some want CF body parts, but is that a reasonable expenditure? IMHO,
if you are that much into track work, buy a more adaptable track car.

Yes, Don, you are the President of the SHO Club, so I expect that you will
always have the rosy comments, but........

I get asked all the time why I track the SHO's. And not at just SHO
events, I go to SVTOA, BMW, AUDI etc events. The reasons include, but
aren't limited to:

The cars are what I have ( I track both the '96 and the '89)
The cars are paid for
They are fun to drive
I like having something different.

Yes, they are slower than a lot of the cars out there, but not all of
them.

In your points, lots of people here are seriously into SHO's and track
their cars.

Why do you keep and track your Subaru? There are LOTS of cars out there
better? It is just as logical for me and others to track a SHO as it
is for you to track the Subie, or even a 911. Lots of cars out there
are better than the 911 (not as many as are better than the SHO or Subie
though, yea, lets get that jab out of the way). Again we go back to the
old saying that there is always going to be someone out there that can
beat you or better you, you just increase the cost of getting beat the
more you buy faster stuff!.

Yea, the Subie might be faster than my '96, might even be faster than my
improved '89. I say again, I don't care. My "fun factor" is as good or
better than yours and THAT is the bottom line.
