Well, all of my father's ancesters left the East Coast about 1800
- 1840 to settle Ohio and then Indiana before they were States.
Mr. Baum was likely a "chicken" who surrendered quickly in up-state
New York as I would have done. He appearently found one Mary Werner,
who was refered to as the "kraut" , likely also of German desent.
And there you have it, I am stuck with a few bad ancestors.
But these guys were at least better than one Pleasent Pruitt. His
parents were from Great Britian. He had on at least 6 seperate occasions,
got drunk in an Inn in Edinburg, Ind. and then stole a horse to
get home to his shack. A real bum, having inflicted serious wounds
on several as he was steeling his ride, in 1840 +/-.
Trying to out live the drunkness of my ancestors...
