I'm forwarding this "again", didn't seem to want to go through other times
(no wise remarks!!). If, for some reason, another 2-3 come through a few
days down the road------sue me!!

So, by your definition, for it be "better" than a 16-year-old car is if it
500 HP out of 3 liters, 400-series tires, a 200 mph top end, 11-second
1/4-mile, and 50 to the gallon? You need a new crack dealer....he's makin
bad "stuff".

Also go back through this list and find "all of the posts where I "claim"
how great" the Subaru is....people love to put words I my mouth and bring up
the Subaru after I never said a word about it.

Your opinion of the Subaru is very uninformed, and well, shows a pretty damn
high level of ignorance.

Actually, it is a quantum leap over what I bought new in 1989, comparing the
1989 to 1989 expectations, and the 2005 to 2005 expectations. Yeah, after 15
years of SHO across all three Gens, they are nice cars (with a 911 in the
middle of it all). I love the Subaru for how it suits all of my needs better
than any SHO has ever done. It's also my opinion that I don't throw around
except in private messages.

But then, you probably have never "seen" an LGT, so you are just blowing
smoke out your ass. Just your simple HP comparison doesn't mean squat, it
just shows the ignorance of the average F-body mullethead who only looks at
the HP #. Try looking at displacement, torque curves and gross torque,
mileage and emissions regs since '89, and how the "little 4-cylinder" is a
13-second car off the showroom floor.

And yeah cars like 356-911 Porsches that have used boxer engines since 1948
are really pieces of crap that will never amount to anything. Can you say
"low center of gravity" and "smooth operation"?? No, didn't think so.

Hmmm, I guess that I need a new calculator. The "marginal' key on my
calculator does not compute when I compare my 13.395 to a stock or BOS SHO
time. Oh yeah, I can probably only get the "station wagon" to run maybe a
14-flat in the rain....or if I went back to the stock ECU program

Guess you never drove a '75 Civic. The difference between it and ANY 1975 US
car is extraordinary. Calling an '89 SHO a quantum leap over a Honda
quality-wise is ridiculous. Anyway, comparing 1989 back to 1975 is useless.
How does you 1989 PC or cell phone compare to the 1975 model? Comparing 1989
to today produces quantum leaps in all cars (but much more so in imports).
If you just want to do the HP comparison, fine. Sure you can talk power,
which the SHO in '89 to the early '90s did well with WRT US sport sedans
(we'll leave Europeans out). But that difference went away. In case you had
not noticed, 220 HP today ain't the same as 220 '89 HP. Engine management
and torque curves have progressed a long way.

I case you also had not noticed, SHOs are not the prime daily car for a LOT
of SHO folks. Discussions come up as to what folks want next. This happens
on other lists with older cars, also. Of course I will make my
recommendations. It ain't as if I'm reducing Ford's SHO sales.

You obviously don't get out much. Spend some time around newer sport sedans
out there many are vast improvements over the SHO in many ways. Doesn't mean
that the SHO can't be enjoyed for what it is, but to still claim that it
"rules the roost" in sport sedans shows a complete ignorance of the current
car market.

I am tired of hearing how great his Subaru is, or rather, how great HE
thinks it is.

Someone said it best in an earlier post - "Your Subaru is 16 years newer
than the 1989 Taurus SHO - so it SHOULD be better!!!"
