[Shotimes] Tire Recomendations

Alan,

The SZ50s are off the market, and are gone. They had poor tire wear, anyway
(hence the EP version).

I had also used Nitto 450s on my 911. I liked them, and the worked well in
the wet. Fred Hurder now has the 911 with them, and doesn't like them,
especially when he tried a track event or two with them.

They were my favorite a/s tire, but the ES100 works better in the wet
(although it's a summer tire, so they came off n the winter here.....not an
issue for you). If I still had the 911, I was also going to put ES100s on it
when the Nitto 450s wore down (don't really remember why I put a/s tires o
that car, anyway!!).

The Nitto 450s and the ES100 both look cool also!!

Paul,

A little more searching on tires has led me to a post of yours on v8SHO.com
regarding the Bitto 450's and Firestone SZ50's. As it turns out, I have 2
very good SZ50's (not EP's) that lost their mates last Christmas when I
borrowed them from my '91 SHO to drive to LA with (unbeknownst to me) a bad
rear alignment.

Would you think the Nitto's would match up OK for my application with the
SZ50's? Or recommend anything else? We had terrible results driving back
from LA last year in the rain, but I think it was mostly because the rear
tires were basically worn out from the bad alignment when we got back to San
Jose.

Thanks.

    Alan
