[Shotimes] Speakers 89

If the car needs strut tower braces at all, it's in the front, as that is
the flexible part of the whole structure. That's why there are cars with
factory front strut tower braces. For a street machine with typical mods, I
would never buy a rear strut tower bar (well, nor a front, for that matter).
Besides being a bit stiffer through the body, there is other stuff ("H" box,
stiffer rear control arms) that will do more.
The FSTB hood support problem is very easily fixed with a prop rod, or with
one of the Adam Varney kits to relocate the struts out to the edge of the
hood.

I thought the front strut towers didn't need it as much because they
were so close to the firewall? Besides, putting a front strut tower bar
requires moving the hood support struts. I know ALSFBs are great for
handling but transfer every vibration straight to your teeth... but
agreed on the subframe connectors. I still have a set of long connectors
I need to get welded on...

IMHO, the rear strut tower brace is one of the last suspension mods to
do.
The rear needs it less than the front. After good tires, AL SFBs and
springs/struts, changing bars helps, then a welded set of long SFCs
helps a
LOT. The $$$ spent of strut braces can be spent on brake upgrades, which
will do more for street "feel".

Keep in mind also that one of the best (and easiest) mods you can do for
your suspension is a rear strut tower brace. Without any speakers and
such you can use a straight bar but if you use speakers that are too big
you'll have to get a different bar and it'll be tougher... just
something to keep in mind; I don't know how much you intend of modifying
your SHO mechanically.

Was planning to put the 8" round under the deck, leave the 6x8 hole. At
most, I would drill screw holes. I have been thinking about it and am
concerned that a strong sub positioned directly below the other speaker
would mean my lows walked all over my mids. Will think about it some
more
and talk to some stereo guys. If I can get away with not losing trunk
space
to a box that would be great.
