I'm sorry that I suggested something that you weren't happy with.  I have
done active searching for a direct replacement for the JBL sub since
*literally* 4 years ago when the sub died on the red '93.  There have been
less that half a dozen 6.5" 6 Ohm subs that were even close enough to the
same physical dimensions to even fit correctly into the enclosure.  I wanted
to try the JL Audio 6WO-6 but they quit manufacturing them before I found
out they even made them.

Well I installed the below tonight, it sucks IMHO!

I think I'll adhere to steve's advice and just replace the foam surrounds on
the stocker.  Either that or see if I could rig up a custom box that'll
mount in the same place, or just mount it to the floor (I've got an extra
decent 10" sub around here).
