What about Bruce Malachuk  bmalach1@nycap.rr.com  He's in upstate NY. (I think)
Also heard of a guy named Chris parts@bittersweetsho.com who works in eastern CT. 
You could ask the guys on the list whether they're good or not. 
I live in NYC as well and usually use a guy in LIC for the easy stuff. 
When I got the clutch done it was at Krispin AutoTech in Floral Park. He also 
did all my belts, hoses, seals, water pump, steering pump, CPS, etc.  
I got the parts together and he did the work. Not real cheap, but the work 
was done right. He's not specifically a SHO tech, he's more into old V6 Buicks that 
he does real nice work on.
