How about with the coolest parts, or best conditioned obsolete parts?
I went out there with just the idea of getting a steering column for Lowrider, since
they are on sale. So I was walking around, dragging the wheelbarrow, looking for a
'90 or '91 with black interior.
A green SHO plus, with everything there except the Y-pipe, and the steering wheel
had been taken off. The slicers are there, the plastic hood is (was!) there, and
the
interior was complete, except for the wheel and front doors. It had a Gen 2
spoiler...apparently it didn't have one originally, like my parts Plus doesn't have
one. It also has a cable shifter. I checked closely...it has the flat black
mirrors and the chrome around the windows...it is definitely a plus. It was built
in May of 1991.
So I grabbed the hood, front bumper cover, fan, instrument cluster, MF switch, EATC
panel, dimmer/autolamp panel, front bumper spacers, fog lights, cornering lights,
antenna, 24V badges, lower speedo cable, and some small parts, including the U joint
for the steering. Total cost was just under $300. The hood is worth that by
itself. BOY!!..that stuff was heavy to carry back to the office, wheelbarrow or
not.
The front have been taken apart, and the seats are there, but need recovering. If
anyone wants anything else off of it, let me know. It has Tokikos, which I am
getting, and I'm also getting the slicers....assuming those are there next
time....maybe I better go back today (also for the cladding...it is good). The
suspension is there, and the front has been improved...at least at the outer tie rod
ends have...they are greaseable. Blower control module is there...I ran out of
time.
Let me know if anyone wants anything. I might not be able to go back until Monday
afternoon, but I'm going back ASAP, after today. I can send small parts out to you.
I don't know if the DIS module is there. The engine looks complete.
It says "do not sell" on the windshield...apparently it was a towaway, like Lowrider
was within a few hours of becoming, when I was in the hospital for my hand.
