I'll look into this this weekend.

I sort of doubt it though, since 
- I can easily slide the rotor around on the hub without making crakling noises, 
- the rotor does not wobble on the hub, and 
- the car never sees rain/snow/salt.

But I gotta tell you that I do hope that you're right.  Cause it'll be an easy fix...:)
