Actually, I might almost agree on the "Gen 1 part!!! ;-)
Over 10 years, my '89 only stranded me once, and this was in around '93 when
it had to be towed after if fried "Yellow fusible link #35", or something
like that. In the '91-early '92 timeframe, it was dying regularly (due to a
bad CPS), but always started eventually. AFAIK, mine was the 1st car on the
Prodigy BB that had a bad CPS....took the dealer three trips to fix it, and
this was after everything else was replaced. We didn't know it was fixed
until it didn't stall anymore.
After those things, the car was always dependable. Of course we were also I
a situation where my wife or a nearby coworker could have driven me to work,
if need be.
I doubt I will ever be that lucky with a car again!

Lowrider is DEFINITELY a reliable daily driver. No one can say otherwise.
