[Shotimes] (OT) this is how you kill a Lambo...

Proves those with a big wallet don't always have da skills :)

I remember seeing that a little while back. I seem to remember they were
filming a commercial there, and after finished, the driver asked for a few
"hot laps". Didn't fare to well :)

Fred Hurder did a spin at the top of that hill (under the bridge at the
crest) back in Oct when a few of us ran there. Basically after turn 10a and
10b (flip flop after the backstretch) I run 2nd gear up the hill, grab 3rd
at the crest (get a little front wheel air/spin) and down we go. Easy when
the front wheels are pullin'.

When I rode with Tim Maleak (local Z06 owner who runs in my group) I
realized where Tim was beating me (other than down the backstraight). The
Z06 *leaps* off low speed corners with the torquey LS6. At the top of that
hill I was amazed to see the extra speed he was getting over my 89, and how
much "air" and rear wheel spin Tim was dealing with. I can imagine with a
500 hp Lambo how you could get into big trouble on that crest.

Going down that hill is a hoot, big pucker factor. It's like a bigger
version of the last turn at Limerock, only with lots of concrete to hit if
you get it wrong. A good run through there I'll hit the limiter in 3rd
going under the Pirelli sign (about 107 mph). It's every bit of a 100 mph
corner, WOT, knawing at the wheel. Most fun you can have with your clothes
on.

I'll be there for another 2 day marathon next weekend :) I'm itching for
some track time, been a few months...

PS my sister in law worked at the Panoz Racing School for awhile (just
changed jobs). Had lots of good stories like the above. Right before she
left, during one of the 3-4 day racing schools, some student wrecked one of
the GTRA cars. Fab shop spent a few days fixing everything, and while
taking it out for a post repair shakedown, guy hit a groundhog on the
backstraight @ 140 mph. Tore up the front end something fierce. The
groundhog didn't fare too well either :)
