[Shotimes] yet another tire/rim question

Run the wider tires in the front...that's where they are needed. Pontiac
will be putting wider tires on the new V8 FWD GXP. Can't see the point of
245s on those rims anyway. Handling would be better running the 235s on the
more-optimal 7.5" rims. Personally, I feel that even 225s run better on 8"
rims, and 235s are not-as-optimal on a 7.5" rim.

Even on the current ride, my stock (to be used in the winter) setup is a
215/45/17 on a 17x7" rim. The Summer setup will be 215/45/17 on a 17x7.5"
rim. And I'll bet that handling will be crisper.

There are few people running 245s.  The 235/45/17s I'm running appear to
be the perfect fit in the front in the sense that they don't stick outside
the fender.  I am seriously considering 245s for the rear.  I think these
would fit okay on 7.5" wide rims.  Running wider tires in the back doesn't
bother me.
