[Shotimes] Eibach springs with stock struts?

Too much spring for stock type strut valving just over-powers the strut and
gives the effect you describe.
Could also be severely worn struts.
My stock Motorcraft struts would do this with regularity at exactly 80K mile
intervals with the stock / stiffer 89 SHO front springs, at 200 lb/in.
You might not notice it as quickly with the softer 94 type springs 150 lb/in
(SLO rate)
Eibachs also start at 150 but quickly ramp up higher since they are
progressive.
