[Shotimes] Rookie Timing Belt Question

Yeah, there should be a dimple on the crank timing belt pulley.  I
think George is right it is directly opposite of the key.  The other
thing you can do is to put the lower cover in place (not necessarily
bolted down) and slip the dampener back on.  rotate the crnak until
the yellow mark (iirc) on the crank is lined up with the 0 degree mark
on the cover.  It's been a really long time since I have done it this
way, and I would need to look in my book. (yeah yeah I only have a
chiltons...  and it's got half a quart of oil spilled on it that has
caused the pages to disintegrate....  I hardly ever need to use it
though, pretty much know everything by heart now.. Not quite sure
where it is.  But I know it is in a big ziploc, to catch all the
pieces as it falls apart.  Hey I used it to rebuild the motor and
thoght it was great)

Anyway, it can be done using the dampener, but there should be a small
dimple on the end, on one of the teeth, not on the bearing surface,
but in the end.  It may be hidden under a layer of filth, so grab some
carb cleaner.
