[Shotimes] Re: Nunnaly is probably the sharpest SHO guy on the list

Vaguely.

I also had my own "butt dyno" test. I had all of the BOS pieces installed on
the '89 except for the 80mm and the LPM. Drove the car that way for a month.
I then got the MAF & LPM, and installed them. I was very underwhelmed!! It
was cold outside, and still, it didn't seem to matter. I thought that power
over 6K was better, but not very noticeable. The car later turned 207 on the
dyno, so I know that the setup was correct.

On my most recent '94, the 80mm&LPM and the calibrated 80mm both had some
issues. Dave Garber can relay the story, but he reinstalled the stock 55mm
and the car runs much better (the car has the rest of the BOS pieces).

The Pro-Flow calibrated 77mm and 75mm Bullet or the way to go, with the nod
to the 75mm since it fits the stock airbox, but yeah, it's a mod to do after
you've done all of the other bolt-on stuff and you have spare cash in your
pocket.

Mark, I'd have to go back through the archives, but the only person I know
that actually recorded measurements in a controlled environment was Kurt
Metros, and his SHO is about the same as ours. IIRC, he was having a lot
of troubles with LPM and MAFs. I thought in all of that work he did, the
55 didn't lose that much compared to the 77. Not sure it was worth more
than 1 or 2 HP. Does anyone remember those tests? Mike K is even more
vocal about the lack of improvement.

Now I'm not about to take my 77 off, but I see there is more consensus
about the MAF upgrade being something to do more down the road after other
areas are addressed.
