[Shotimes] Y-pipe install problem

I'm trying to install the factory Y-pipe in my car as the final step to changing the clutch.  The front exhaust flange was no problem.  The rear is a different story.  The studs are skewed and I can't the flange over both of them.  I read about this problem in the SHOforum but can't find it doing numerous searches.

Does anyone have any similar experience with skewed exhaust studs and any tricks to getting the flange on.  I don't want to try and remove the stud for fear of breaking it.
