There's a bench test of O2 sensors on the SHOtimes website.

I've never done this, so I can't vouch for it's accuracy. I'm sure if
it wasn't perfect it wouldn't make it to the FAQ!
And no I don't think your straight pipe would cause your rich condition.
Hey, if you're so rich why don't you just replace everything?
