Police bushings was Re: [Shotimes] Delrin or alum?

I had a set of police bushings a few years ago and when compared to the
stock bushings they seemed the same to me, only they were painted blue.
Some of the blue paint didn't even cover the entire bushing.

Now, I guess it doesn't make sense that Ford would do this (paint stock
bushings blue, give them different part numbers, call them "police
bushings"), so I suppose the rubber could have been marginally stiffer,
but it wasn't noticeable to me.

I've the police bushings installed on all 4 corners of my 93 atx. It's
the
same style as the mtx bushings. They were definitely an improvement over
the
original worn (35k miles) atx bushings. No NVH problems. I didn't
measure
the durometer of the bushings, so I can't say whether there's a
difference.
They have unique part numbers.

Dave - Why do you believe the police bushings are the same as mtx or atx

bushings?
