Actually, it looks like it is doing what they advertise, 
getting most of the dirt, and passing more air than any 
other filter.

The actual amount of dirt filtered is pretty good, but their 
graphs make it look horrible because they used scales 
designed to emphasize the differences.

The only thing that surprised me was that the K&N plugged up 
quicker than the others.

I think people can use a K&N without any fear of harming an 
engine, but if ultimate filtering is what you need, then get 
something else.

Also, you need to remember that the results may be a lot 
different when on the highway, compared to the results in a 
lab.  They talk about how a paper filter will have different 
results due to humidity changes.

I would not take this test as a reason to quit using K&N.

Like I keep saying, I have done lots of comparison tests of 
oil analysis between K&N filters and good clean paper 
filters. If the K&N was missing anything important, it would 
show up as silicone or other contaminants in the oil, and 
that hasn't happened.
