1) crank shaft nut- tighten to 112-127 ft-lbs (basically all you got with a
1/2 inch drive). I believe I might have put a rubber strap wrench around the
crank shaft, to help against turning??
2) your supposed to use some special timing belt tensioner tool for setting
the tensioner-NAPA evidently sells them, as well as a couple of the SHO repair
shops. But, I didn't have one so I just guessed
I believe that a lot of this info is covered under the shotimes maintenance
procedures??

Subject: [Shotimes] 60k reassembly questions.
Sorry if this is a duplicate message....
I'm half way through the 60k proceedure. Following the instructions
on the website. timing belt is in place but I have a couple of
reassembly questions:
1) To remove the crank pulley I did as the proceedure says (slide 19mm
socket over cap screw head, rest breaker-bar against sub-frame, turn key). I'm
curious about reassembly though: How much torque? Do I have to take steps to
keep the motor from turning?
2) Timing belt tensioner. The advice I was given was to allow the tensioner
to swing against the timing belt, tighten nut, turn motor 2 complete turns,
loosen nut and then tighten again. I received this advice from a helpful v8sho
list member. He admitted, however, that it had been awhile. Is this the
correct proceedure?
Thanks,
Brent
