Recommended capacity is something like 3.1 quarts. When I sucked mine out
with the vacuum pump, I would get just under 3 quarts in it.
D4 should be fine. If it's not convenient for you to get Mobil 1 ATF will
work and many folks have also had great luck with the GM Synchromesh fluid
(Valvoline also makes a comparable fluid), which has worked when others
haven't (from a smooth-shifting perspective).

How many quarts of fluid do I need to buy in order to change the tranny
fluid in a 92 MTX? Also, I plan on getting using Redline D4 as it seems to
be the most recommended. Anyone have anything against D4?
