How long has there been a hole in the boot? If it's more than a day, there
is going to be gunk in there and the life of the joint just went down
severely! With the price of remaned half-shafts being so cheap, I'd just do
it that way. They are $46.79 from www.rockauto.com. I got one from them for
my '99 and it fit well.
I would stay away from the split boot kit.

Is it possible to replace just the boot on a CV joint or do you pretty much
have to just replace the whole axle? I know with Miatas you can buy just a
(split) boot kit and not even have to take the CV joint apart but I'm not
sure about SHO's. My CV joints seem to be fine, other than the one split
boot, so I'd rather not have to replce the whole thing. FWIW, it's the
outer LH boot on my 92 that's bad.
Thanks,
Pete
