The factory sub is 6.5", not 6" as someone else mentioned.

When my original sub foam surround failed I tried 5 different
aftermarket replacement subs. Included in my sampling was the JL
Audio 6W0 that people refer to as a "perfect fit". Also, I tried subs
ranging from $10 to $80, in 4-ohm, 6-ohm and 8-ohm. I was pretty sure
I wouldn't like any 4-ohm or 8-ohm, but once I found a 6-ohm 6.5" sub
I thought I was golden. Wrong.

The short version of the story is that I wasn't happy with ANY
replacement sub. If you remember and enjoy the bass output your
factory sub had when it was good you probably won't be happy either.
If all you want is something to produce a little bass and get rid of
the "torn" sub sound you probably currently have, go right ahead.
Just make sure wherever you buy one has a good return policy!

I ended up getting my OEM sub repaired. Found a company in Cali that
does it. Send them your sub, they inspect it and tell you what it
needs (typically just a new foam surround), fix it, and send it back.
I think the cost was around $35 including shipping both ways.

The advantages of the OEM sub are many. Designed to work with the
factory amp, correct depth for the factory enclosure, 6-ohm impedence,
etc.

If you want me to look up the company that repaired mine let me know.

Take care,
