I am sorry for the length of this post. I am facing a problem far from home
and turn to my SHO friends for advice. I need to make a decision and ask
advice especially from those who know upstate New York.

I recently bought a 93 Sable for a relative. The car was in Massachusetts.
Chris Archer and Kirk Doucette were saints about picking up the car,
prepping it, and driving it to me at the convention. Unfortunately, despite
being presented by the seller as "running great -- drive it home," the car
died on the NY State Throughway after only about 2 hours of driving. Chris
described it as tranny failure. The car is now impounded at Sunnyside
Garage in Castleton, NY. It is wearing Wisconsin plates.

If this is the tranny, there may be little sense in driving out there to
trailer it home. $2K tranny and $500 transport for a $500 car just doesn't
make sense. Would you concur?

I hate to say this after what Kirk and Chris went through, but must face
facts: I am thinking I might just junk the car. How do I arrange that so
far away? I'd really love to find someone in that area who would remove the
plates and mail them to me. If Sunnyside wants money for tow and parking, I
suppose I'll have to pay that. But how do I arrange for the car to get to a
junkyard?

Anyone have a pal or relative in that vicinity?

I am grateful for any advice. Thank you!
