[Shotimes] stereo = sucky

Don't they teach you Navy guys about "resonance"? :^)

Here's a water analogy for you swab:
First, imagine you're in the middle of a swimming pool when the starter's
pistol goes off. You start doing the doggie paddle but it takes a little
while for you to get moving.

Now, imagine you're at the side of the swimming pool. When the starter's
pistol goes off, you use you legs to push off the side of the pool.
Obviously you will get moving much faster and further.

When the speakers are mounted properly (sealed to the package shelf), your
trunk effectively becomes the "speaker box". Sound is the movement of air.
If you hang a bare speaker in the middle of a room, it will sound like crap,
because the speaker cone has nothing to push against.

But, if you mount the speaker in a sealed box, the speaker cone now has
something to push against - the trapped air in the box. The sound will
project forward and it will be much richer and much more intense.
