Well, thanks for all y'all's suggestions about my speakers. Turned out 
that yes, it does make a huge difference when they're screwed into the 
parcel shelf, and also I had one speaker that had its phase reversed. 
Got the 8" sub hooked up... btw, is the black w/ white wire positive? I 
think it is... anyway, the bass totally rawks now. Thanks!c
