The metal tubes that go thru the firewall are the heater core inlet and outlet
tubes. They are part of the heater core and require disassembly/moving to the rear
of the dash, evacuation of the a/c, and theoretically removal of the pax seat to get
to. If the rubber hoses going to them are loosely connected, they can cause a leak
that looks like it is the tubes. Check the connections and replace the stock clamps
with screw types. It is VERY easy to do this with the intake off. You might remove
it to get to the hoses easier, and see exactly what is leaking.
