Getting the nose in the air isn't difficult.  Shadetree Mechanic version:

As others have said, use a jack etc. to lower the subframe onto whatever 
sort of trolley or palet you have.  To raise the car off the engine, I've 
used a floor jack, stands, and a few 4x4 or 4x6 wood blocks.

- Jack up left front corner, insert stand.
- Place a wood block on top of your jack.
- Jack up right front corner, insert stand on a pair blocks.
- Jack up left front corner, insert blocks under stand.

The bottom radiator support should now clear the engine.  If not, use double 
layer of blocks under your jack stands.
