[Shotimes] How do I take apart my alternator?

It's actually completely unnecessary to take the pulley off, and it's a
pain in the ass, too, I don't know how you did it lol... anyway, the
four screws on the outer edge of the front casing are off, so the last
step is exactly as you suggested, put a screwdriver inbetween the two
case halves and start (gently!!!!!) prying. You really need to make sure
not to scratch the windings. What's holding the alternator together at
this point is the force of the brushes against the central shaft. That's
also why you need a paper clip to get the alternator back together; the
brushes need to be held down for the shaft to get back in. But yeah...
just start prying. Chances are there's lots of road gunk holding it
together too. Email me back if you need any help... I completely rebuilt
my alternator (rectifier, diode pack, windings) myself using nothing but
a screwdriver and a soldering iron about 6 months ago... and it still
works! :P
