Sounds like he was so pissed he got his hay foot an' straw  foot mixed up.  
Moral of the story, if he gotta smack something,  make it the restaurant and 
not the poor working stiff who just happens to  be driving past.
 
My mom used to say when I got a bruise, "put a piece of steak on it", too  
bad that doesn't work on A-pillars, considering all the "raw" material that was  
on hand.
