While I agree with what Don said I think it also depends on your
situation/lifestyle at the moment. What I mean is... are you a college
student with low funds? Or what type of time/money would you be able to
put into the car to make it how you want it to be. I think that is a
reasonable price for the car but if you don't have the time and extra
income to buy parts when things break(and they definitely will) and to
fix the known problems then I would advise to not purchase it and find
something else. Also in my opinion if you decide to find a "better SHO"
then you will almost always have to pay for that. I got my '93 for
5,000$ which is fairly high in my opinion but the guy knew what he had
and wouldn't budge on his price and I gave in since the car was pretty
nice. Since buying it ive had a number of things go out or break on the
car which are quite normal for the SHO yet they were still costing me
money continuously just like maybe an '89 would of. So sometimes
getting a "better SHO" doesn't always fix the mechanical problems since
things do break. With that said you might also luck out and find a very
sweet deal from somebody else. Its all hit or miss and I wish you the
best of luck!
Hope I was a helpful and didn't ramble on too much.

A car in the condition you mentione could easily run $3000 to fix up.
Depending how much work you can do yourself. Personally, I think it is
better to wait for a car that is right to begin with and pay $3000 for
that, than buy an unknown and wind up paying the same or more money.
You can get some nice SHO's for $3000 and not have to spend much money
to start enjoying them.
Check with some of the vendors listed on SHOtimes and SHOclub.com. They
might have a nice one for sale.
the main SHO Classifieds are on SHOclub.com also.

seem to be blowing right, probably needs a recharge. The shifting was
kinda hard, and 2nd gear seemed to bea little worn. The biggest problem
mechanically was you really had to jam in the break pedal to stop. The
front breaks will lock up, so we concluded it was the rear breaks that
were probably causing the problem.

leather seats are torn up beyond repair, probably from sitting in the
sun so long. I'd have to replace those. 3) the emergency break works,
but when it's not on it's a little loose, causing the "break" light to
light up. 4) it has no stereo, but that's not too big a problem because
I have an alpine I'd want to put in. Exterior is alright, nothing I
can't handle.

your opinions on whether I should get this car. I understand that there
is some 60k mile tune up that should have been done; I have no clue if
it has. The car is real cheap, the guy said he'd give it to me for $750,
but then after we told him all that's wrong with it, he asked what I
thought it's worth, and I left. SO conceivably, I could get it for $500.

I think we can do the majority of the work). are these parts hard to
come by? c) do you think it is worth it?
