During practice there were 8 tire failures among the Michelin cars, one 
resulting in a crash.  Michelin told their teams the tires wouldn't be safe 
in turn 13.  IMS offered to install a chicane in that turn to slow the cars 
down, but Ferrari vetoed it.  So all seven of the Michelin teams lined up 
for the start but pulled into the pits after the formation lap.
