yesterday morning i cranked up my car, put it in reverse, and started
to back up.  i got about three feet and the car stalled.  i figured
maybe it was just being pissy since the motor was cold, so i tried to
crank it back up. it wouldn't crank.  the gas light came on and it
acted like it was out of gas, so even though it had a quarter of a
tank i jacked my roommate's truck and got two gallons in it anyway.
still wouldn't start. starter was clicking, spark plugs had fire, but
nothing.  the only thing i noticed different (besides the fact that it
wouldn't start) is that i didn't hear the normal fuel pump whine that
i usually get when i turn on the car, but i didn't always hear that
anyway.  today it's getting towed to a mechanic since i don't have a
clue, but does anyone have an idea? could it be the fuel pump? was it
little green men?
