[Shotimes] Keyless Fob

Hey Gang,

Will a Keyless fob from a gen 3/4 fork on a gen 1/2?  I ask this
becasue I have lost/broken all of my fobs and got on from my brother
that he used on his gen 3 and gen -4 sLo's.  (It works on his cars... 
so thge remote is good.

Anyway, I found the jumper shorted it and turned on the ignition.  It
locked then unlocked the doors, I hit the lock and unlock on the
remotee, then switched off the car, removed the jumper and there was
no effect.

Is it possible that they are not compatible?  Dunno if anyone here has
tried this across generations.
