What about the Ford 5.0L DOHC 4-valve "Cammer" (derivative of the 4.6L Cobra
modular engine, not the "Windsor" pushrod engine).

It makes 440 hp and almost 400 lb-ft. The 2005 Mustang GT-R's run them in
the Grand Am Cup Series and they SPANKED all kinds of Porsche 996's and BMW
M3's, Caddy CTS-V's, and RX-8's a few weeks ago at Daytona coming in #1 and
#2 in class AND overall. The second place car did it without a hood!!! It
lost it earlier in the race.

The 5.0L "Cammer" costs $15,000 in the Ford Racing catalog, but I bet a 996
or M3 engine costs a LOT more than that.
