Dave,

Can CV joints give rise to an intermittent vibration that is only felt in the steering wheel?

Wouldn't the drive-shaft cause a continous (not intermittent) shake that is fell at all speeds to some degree?

I did check the hubs as you suggested a while ago, and they are in spec.

For some reason though, I don't think that means so much since if the bearings a semi-failing, they might be fine with no load on them, but not so fine with the weight of the car on them on the road. Possible?

Interesting you mention the thing about the rotoro not sitting flush against the hub. The right rotor actually wobbles a little bit.  I noticed this the other day but I let it pass cause I thought that by tightening the lug nuts would warp the rotor enough to push it firmly up against the hub.  I'll look into this again.
