[Shotimes] Delrin subframe bushings

Yes, it is definitely a stacking issue. I have a very modified 93,
especially the suspension, and a bone stock 92. I gradually have
upgraded the 93 so I never really noted any one dramatic change,
probably the biggest was the struts/springs. But as all the mods
stacked, I ended up with a very rough, but extremely good handling
car. Until I was driving a stock SHO again, i had totally forgotten
just how smooth the ride was. the change was gradual enough that my
brain was ok with it.
Now that I am not forced to drive the 93 every day, it is a great
deal. I have a car that is formidable at auto-x and a fun track day
car (just needs more engine...), and a nice smooth ride that I can
drive to work. But with both street legal, plated and insured, when
one breaks (SHO's do break, we know that) I can drive the other.
All to say this.... If you have a stock suspension and just swap in
the bushings (al or delrin) there will be a handling difference.
there will be an addition in NVH, but if you run stock size
wheels/tires and stock struts/springs then you probably won't notice
to much. To the original poster, what is the current mod status of
your suspension? Here's a list of my front suspension as a comparison
Tokico
Eibach
Poly LCA bushing
Police strut mount
AL SFB (my version. donut style)
Strut brace (my version, preloadable)
Slotted towers for crazy camber settings. (like neg 5-7 deg!)
Shonut Extreme motor mounts (NVH only differnce, no handling bonus)
245/40/17 Wheels/tires
and probably somthing or another else I have forgotten...
with that said, if you look, there is very little damping for NVH in
that setup. Very little, and you can feel it. If you swap out one
component for one that helps NVH, the difference is substantial. Also
the performance change is going to be noticable. it's a system and
changing 1 component will make some difference, but changing them all
makes the car completely different. It's crazy fun to drive, but
beat's you up pretty good.
So the big question... what is your driving style, and what's the
goal? Do you wanna drive it everyday, or do you slowly want to build
a very performance oriented suspension? There are middel roads too,
it is not a dichotomy.
So what is the goal, maybe we can help reccomend a setup that will get
you exactly what you want from the car.

PS, the only item I have left to change in my ssupensuion is a rather
wicked 3 point rear tower brace. i just need to get around to
building it sometime.
