This week (Friday, Saturday and Sunday), two SHOs will be in the midst
of dozens of Cobras, Lightnings and maybe a couple Contour SVT's as the
SVTOA invades the Autobahn track in Joliet.

Autobahn is a private track, following the lead of the group in Northern
CA that did Thunderhill. SVTOA has rented most of the track (another
group is scheduled to use part of the track Saturday and Sunday for
actual races which might be fun to watch.

The SVT events are a little more severely structured than the SHO
Convention events and other track days that a lot of the SHO group might
be used too, but I am hoping it isn't too much of a parade.

My son Ken will have his '95 there with the new Akebono brake pads, and
I will have the '96 SHO V8 in Thunderhill trim (basically stock with
Yokohama AVS ES100 tires). I was going to take the '89 with the new
cams, but need a bit more time to sort it out and check out the brakes
before I give it a three day test like this!

If anyone is in the Chicago/Joliet area and wants to stop by, I don't
think they charge to spectate, but you might want to call the track to
confirm. With the races happening on the weekend, there might be some fee.

I will try to get some pictures of a SHO hounding some SVT vehicles.
