I was just out at lunch and made a 5 minute stop. When I got back in, the starter cranked longer then normal and then made an odd hesitation, as if the battery was drained, there also were small backfire sounds. Several attempts to restart yielded similar results. I tried flooring the gas pedal to prevent the injectors from spraying to clear out any fuel and then let it sit for about 5 minutes before trying again. Still no dice. I went and ate my lunch for about 15 minutes and tried again. Same thing happened on the first try, but on the second try she fired right up.
Car ran fine on the 2 mile drive back to work, but I have a CE light now and my tack is sitting on 0. The tach needle was showing 500rpm during the starting attempts, but I don't know if it did on the time it finally fired or if it didn't show during one of the attempts.
I'll check for codes when I get home. Anyone have ideas? I'm thinking cam or crank sensor, hoping it's cam since that's easier to replace.
Thanks
