I figure with all of you opinionated guys on this board I may be able
to get some help. ; )

I'm looking for one program to handle my home security needs. I have
a broadband connection, and a router with the firewall enabled, but
with all of the other adware detectors and virus programs I have
installed to combat specific problems my computer runs like a turtle.

I installed Norton Systemworks on it when I changed the hard drive
last year, but stuff still gets through. And now I can't update the
virus scanner because there's some problem with it. It wants me to
uninstall it and reinstall it before I can update. I've had enough of
that crap. I don't want anything from Norton or McAfee anymore.

I've had a few people tell me they've had great success with Zone
Alarm, but in looking on their website, it's unclear to me whether it
includes a good adware fighter. Does anybody have any experience with
it, or can recommend something else? I want something that handles
viruses, detects and kills adware, and can prevent adware from being
installed.
