No, they are different.  89 - 92 pads are a different shape than the 93-up
pads (for the non-vented rotor).

I should know this, but....

Are there any differences in the rear brake PADS between 1989 and later 
models.

Tire Rack lists Akebono pads for Gen II and Gen III for the rear, but 
not for the 1989.

I know the disks are different (vented in 1989) but will the pads 
interchange?
