That's the joint I was talking about when I was saying 'don't try to turn the car
without a lot when pushing it with the engine not running'.

They (that connection) cannot stand being turned with a lot of force, without power
assist.  I can't say why Ron Porter's car survived several months of no power
assist.  But I ruined, or at least created a lot of slop, just by turning the black
car around in a parking lot so that I could push it far enough to get some speed to
start it.

There may be a way to put a shim into the area that is worn, by loosening that joing
and spreading it a bit, so that a small sliver of sheet metal can be inserted
between the two parts.  I was going to try that on the Plus from Hell, but never got
around to it.

That's just one of many 'home fixes' that these cars will need to make them last as
long as we want them to.
