Alan,
Not down on power, but down on torque. HP is up about 15 above 6000 rpm..
Dyno comparison isn't a real problem, Dynojet's are pretty consistent,
and I always use corrected numbers.
As for the car, it was last dyno tested about 4 years ago, but hasn't
seen all that much use since then, and the car has always felt just as
strong. I took it out for a drive right before taking it apart and all
the old excitement was there. No signs of aging and I am very confident
that the car didn't lose more than 10-15 lb ft and Hp between dyno
sessions. I know this car very well.
Yes, something else might be at play, a leaky spark plug wire was
suspected at one point, but we didn't look into it furthur.
In driving, the car is for sure down on torque in around town driving,
but that isn't the goal of the car, it is going to be for track days.
AT higher rpm's it pulls stronger past 6000 rpm for sure, but up to that
point, it doesn't feel any stronger, and dyno testing proves that out.
I will get the charts today and know better how the entire rpm range
stacks up. One thing against the bad plug wire scenario is that the
dyno chart looked very smooth and consistent, a bad cyl would show up in
the chart pretty easy.
