I think the maini spec would be to time the cams to straight up with the 
belt and factory sprockets and then put a degree wheel on the cams and 
see where the various timing events are.  Standard procedure.  This has 
nothing to do with lift, overlap etc.  You are reading WAY too much into 
this.
